The Matriarchy is my faithful tribe of readers and fellow authors. I wanted to create a space for those who write or who have enjoyed reading my crazy storylines that are heavily influenced by either the stories I’ve lived, the ones I’ve been told, and the ones that I’ve witnessed. I feel that all Black women can relate to at least one of the circumstances or characters depicted in my books, and it is those experiences that really brings us all together.
The Matriarchy is heavily inspired by my own family. I’ve always been surrounded by strong women who have fought and won battles that I know were sent to take us out. Nonetheless, we’ve all overcome them and don’t look a thing like what we’ve been through. We’re not perfect, but we are passionate and loving human beings that refuse to let the enemy wreak havoc in our lives.
